Travel and Vacation Articles1st Albuquerque Tango Festival
Tango must be one of the most popular ballroom dances around. Originating from the Rio de la Plata area is South America, the influence of the tango has spread all throughout the world, and the United States is not spared. Regular tango festivals are held everywhere in the country where the dance has a significant following. Albuquerque, NM, happens to be one of those places.
As part of honoring this tradition of tango dancing in the city, the city has produced the first ever locally-produced tango festival, the Albuquerque Tango Festival, which will be held from November 4-7, 2010. By participating in the festival, you will be able to meet a lot of other people who are into tango dancing, not to mention having the opportunity to take extensive classes in tango dancing of various levels. Awaiting you there are 8 milongas (which translate to about 43 hours of tango dancing), 22 classes, an apparel exchange for those who have tango apparel that they want to get changed or sold, plus a beginner's track for those people who are just about to begin their training in this kind of dance. This is kind of new as most tango festivals elsewhere in the country cater only to those who already have high expertise when it comes to the tango. Of course, food will also be available. In fact, it's a cake that will be available for everyone at the end of each milonga. This is already on top of the fact that you will be all provided with quality wood panel floors during the festival. All of these things while you're having fun with the rest of the festival participants. So if you think you have the moves or the passion to become a great tango dancer, then go ahead, fly to Albuquerque, and experience a tango festival like no other!
